COMPLIANCE SUCCESS STORY - Compliance Policies Overwhelm

Client+Success+Study-happy+client.jpg

How we helped two clients overwhelmed by compliance policies achieve fully implemented, understandable & easily applied programs.

Two clients came to us for help with their HIPAA compliance programs. Both had a significant number of HIPAA-related policies on their company intranets. They recognized that there was no way their employees could digest that many policies, much less understand how to comply with HIPAA requirements in their daily work.

Each client was increasingly uncomfortable knowing that they had compliance policies in place that employees weren’t able to realistically follow.

HIPAA requirements can be complex, and with sensitive health information on the line, compliance with privacy and security rules is critically important. For companies subject to HIPAA, it can be a challenge to figure out which requirements apply to your business, and how to comply in the most efficient and effective way. Although having a large number of compliance policies might seem like a good idea at the outset, most of the time you end up in a worse position because voluminous policies are often ignored.

We took the time to understand each client’s business, the requirements most relevant to their daily work, & their greatest potential compliance risks.

We then re-designed and consolidated their HIPAA compliance policies into a smaller number of streamlined policies that employees could understand and implement.

With these more effective policies in place, my clients feel confident knowing that employees can readily locate the guidance they need to protect patient data in a compliant manner.
